Co-Founder: Tara Chang
Tara Chang is a co-founder of the Women’s iLab and a continuous advocate for women advancing technology and innovation. Born and raised in Los Angeles with her two brothers and parents, Tara took off for Boston to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received her degree in Management Science and Comparative Media Studies from the Sloan School of Management. She spent the majority of her educational career learning from her advisor Professor Dan Ariely and focused her research MIT Media Lab researching under Professor John Maeda.
Today, Tara is the VP of East Coast Sales and Emerging Markets for Visible Measures and helped to open their first sales office in New York in 2010. Tara is very active in the community supporting her sorority Kappa Alpha Theta, Project by Project Philanthropy and MIT10 Alumni Fundraising. Tara also serves as an advisor for Revfluence, a social networking startup based in San Francisco.
Tara has been featured in MIT’s Technology Review for placing 3rd in DARPA’s Red Balloon Race Network Challenge, BostInno as Boston’s Most Impactful Alumni and The Institute for Educational Advancement: Faces of Many Gifted. She has spoken to future leaders in innovation at various universities including Harvard Business School and The Wharton School.
Tara is a passionate “foodie” and can be found checking out new underground restaurants or traveling the world to see as much as she can. She is also very involved in community activities supporting various philanthropies including Project by Project and Feeding Starving People. Fun Fact: Tara is a Junior Olympic Fencer and was Lindsay Lohan’s stunt double in Disney’s “The Parent Trap”!
