Women’s iLab is growing its team and hiring interns or volunteers who will embody the Women’s iLab mission of inspiring the next generation of female leaders. We are looking for interns or volunteers in Boston, NYC, and remotely nationwide who will help us personally help lead expanding our brand presence online.  You will gain firsthand knowledge and opportunities to build your personal brand and portfolio.

Writing: Intern or volunteer will have an understanding of content best practices, tools, and strategies. Intern goal is to drive growth through the development and delivery of addictive, shareable content that fosters social engagement. We are looking to hire someone who is hungry to learn about the innovation and tech industry, who can provide innovative, strategic and creative ideas and work independently. You should also be current with events and news and have strong writing skills. Responsibilities:

  • Create 2-3 posts per week for website, newsletter, and social media channels (posts will be assigned by senior editor or brainstormed by the writer with approval from senior editor
  • Share posts across social media and direct marketing outreach to innovators, business leaders and execs

Marketing: Intern or volunteer will have an understanding of social media best practices, tools, and strategies. Goal is to drive growth through the distribution of addictive, shareable content that fosters social engagement. We are looking to hire someone who is hungry to learn about the PR/Social Media industry, who can provide innovative, strategic and creative ideas and work independently. You should also be current with the publisher industry and social media influencers and have strong networking and communication skills. Responsibilities include:

  • Engage with users across social channels, answering questions, responding to questions and other customer service issues
  • Assist in reporting and analysis of social media data
  • Monitor social media successes of competitive and relevant brands
  • You will become an expert in social media best practices and stay abreast of changes to social media platforms used
  • Create an ongoing strategy on new ways to grow fans and followers across all social channels
  • Direct marketing and PR outreach to innovators, business leaders and execs
  • Develop and manage content syndication partnerships
  • Assist in building Women’s iLab presence with helping to coordinate sponsorship events

Web Development: Intern or volunteer Intern should  have an understanding of website development best practices, tools, and strategies and will learn website management, HTML and design skills. We are looking to hire someone who is hungry to learn about the innovation and tech industry, who can provide innovative, strategic and creative ideas to enhance UX and work independently. Responsibilities include:

  • Support transition from wordpress.com to self-hosted server or wordpress.org
  • Enhance contribution process
  • Build out display advertising features
