5 Savory Cocktails for Your Next Summer Networking Event

When summer is in session, even our networking events blossom and bend to enjoy the gorgeous weather. As we hand out our business cards, meet new people, and mentally decide whom we’re going to follow up with after the event, we also want to be having a decent time. Even though networking events are not about the drinks and appetizers, it’s a nice touch to have an array of delicious choices for your guests.

Here are 5 great, savory cocktails for your next event:

Watermelon Mint Prosecco

Watermelon Mint Prosecco is a light but refreshing cocktail that is perfect for your next summer networking event. For a light, fresh splash of summer, this cocktail only contains three ingredients: watermelon juice, mint sprigs, and chilled Prosecco. First, blend fresh watermelon in a pulse blender and use a strainer to let the juice separate from any chunks or seeds. Place the watermelon juice at the bottom of the glass, and slowly pour the Prosecco over it. This will give it an ombre look that is just as appealing to the eyes as taste buds. Add mint sprigs, and a piece of watermelon as garnish.

Blue Raspberry Spiked Lemonade

Blue Raspberry Spiked Lemonade is another taste of summer that would do wonders at your event. First, make sure your glass is filled with ice. Pour fresh or store-bought lemonade over the ice until the glass is 3/4 full. Top the glass off with Blue Raspberry Vodka and a sprig of mint. If you are using store-bought lemonade, splash a spritz of fresh lemon juice into the drink as well to get that extra burst of fresh flavor.

Strawberry Gin Smash

For a glass of Strawberry Gin Smash, you will need sugar, a fresh lime, three fresh strawberries, gin, club soda, and our handy-dandy mint sprig. First, muddle 1/2 teaspoon of sugar with lime juice at the bottom of the glass. Then combine and continue to muddle two of your three strawberries. Add ice to the top of the glass, and then add roughly 3 ounces of gin. Finish the drink off with a splash of club soda, and add the last strawberry and mint sprigs for garnish. Delish!

The Cosmopolitan

We’re taking it back now to a classic drink that will always go over well at your event. Everybody knows and enjoys cosmopolitans. If they’re not up for your fruity summer cocktails, this one may be someone’s go-to drink. A cosmopolitan, or “Cosmo,” is made up with fresh lime juice, cranberry juice, triple sec, and vodka. For one glass, place 1/2 ounce of lime juice, 1 ounce of cranberry juice, 1/2 ounce of triple sec, and 1 1/2 ounces of vodka citron into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, shake, shake, and strain over a large cocktail glass. And there you have it.

Lemon Drop Martini

Another classic go-to, yet enjoyable summer cocktail, is the Lemon Drop Martini. For this cocktail, you will need 1 1/2 ounces of vodka, 1/2 ounce of triple sec, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 3/4 ounces of fresh lemon juice, and ice. Put these ingredients into the cocktail shaker, and shake. Add sugar to the rim of a chilled martini glass (keep in mind you can do this to any of the cocktails mentioned), and pour the cold beverage into the glass. Add a lemon twist for garnish, and there’s your Lemon Drop Martini.
