Call It Supper: Detox Smoothie

We’re not into fad diets at Call It Supper, but we do recognize that there are certain times when you need to recharge. This is Tori’s favorite recuperation smoothie; it’s quick and easy to make.

RECIPE: Detox Smoothie

This detox smoothie was created based off of a juice that I used to order from a tiny café in New York City. I would order it each time I visited because a trip to New York City was undoubtedly filled with lunches, suppers and drinks and I always felt better after having it. I’m not sure if it really detoxes or if its a placebo effect, but it tastes great and is a good base for many other juices and smoothies.  Its sweet from the apple, pear and pineapple and spicy from the ginger.

Steps & Ingredients

  1. Toss the apple, pear, ginger, aloe juice and pineapple into a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.

Sarah and Tori started Call It Supper because they believe that a meal is always a strategic decision—never to be wasted, and have a passion for inventing recipes. The two became friends at Bowdoin College, where they started hosting dinner parties together. Back then, it was six packs and hors d’oeuvres, but today they have taken things a few steps further in the kitchen.
